Professor Tang, Ching Wan

HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) Bank of East Asia Professor (2013-Present). 

Professor Tang is the first Chinese recipient of the highly reputable Wolf Prize in Chemistry (awarded in 2011). The Wolf Prize in chemistry is often considered the most prestigious award after Nobel Prize. He was also awarded the Kyoto Prize (Advanced Technology) by Inamori Foundation in 2019 for his invention of OLED and the related applications.


NG, Chum Ting Elton

Elton reached the summit of the highest mountain of the world, Mt Everst (8848m) in 2017. In 2018, he became the youngest and the second person in Hong Kong to reach all summits of the highest mountains in all seven continents. Elton was selected as Ten Outstanding Young Person Hong in the same year. In 2019, he was the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Alumni Award’ of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
